Gateacre Garden Centre

Developed over more than 60 years, since 1935, Gateacre garden centre once occupied the countryside, but urban spread has meant that it is now within Liverpool itself. Necessarily small due to constraints of the surrounding houses, this garden centre nevertheless uses all space to best effect and offers a comprehensive range of plants, tools, gardening supplies and more.

Gateacre garden centre offers exceptional service from the conscientious and knowledgeable staff together with an excellent quality of nursery stock coming from its long tradition in retail horticulture. The centre began live as a nursery owned and run by grandfather of current owner Sally Cornelissen. The staff are more than haooy to assist with choosing the best plants, shrubs,trees, composts, fertilisers and furniture for the garden. The centre is well-known locally and has built up a reputation for quality and service.

The terraced display areas boast numerous raised long rectangular beds. There is a range of outdoor pots and terracotta ornaments, gazebos and pergolas enhancing the viewing area, along with tables with inbuilt irrigation and good selection of statuary. The outdoor area is fitted with all-weather flooring; the flower beds are edged with logs for a lovely rustic effect.

There is a wide selection of specimen stock and unusual plants such as tree ferns and palms which should enable you to find appropriate plants for any garden. There's a fine selection of quality garden implements, and a houseplant area brimming with foliage and flowering plants and hanging baskets. The gift shop offers cards and a range of glassware in unusual colours, shapes and designs.
