Nurseries & Garden Centre
Lady green garden centre was opened in 1985
by owners Philip and Sue Allison. Philip, a trained landscape
designer, ahs developed the centre grounds from small
beginnings as a ploughed field to its present status as a
successful and prosperous business with a growing reputation
for the variety and quality of its plants. Set in 9 acres, it
boasts a successful garden design business.
Philip and his wife Sue have used their
flair for design to develop a beautiful mature landscape of
trees, pools and gardens to set off and complement the garden
centre plantaria, offering a wealth of ideas to every gardener.
Many interesting reclaimed stone items, saved from destruction
by city of Liverpool redevelopers, are available to buy,
including stone troughs and york stone flags and finials.
Frequent medal-winners at the acclaimed Southport flower show,
the centre offers a wide selection of top quality shrubs, trees
and conifers, while the plant stock ranges from small alpine
varieties to mature shrubs and conifers, all container-grown
for planting throughout the year.
The trained and knowledgeable staff can
offer advice on the most suitable plants for any position.
There is also a good selection of garden furniture, for that
finishing touch to any garden. Garden tools, hardware,
fertilisers and chemicals are also available.
Foe home, the centre stocks a range of silk
and dried flowers, house plants and seasonal pot plants, books,
cards and attractive gift items. 'Teasels' coffee shop has a
welcoming, friendly atmosphere and serves a variety of freshly
prepared meals and home-made cakes. Evening events include
enlightening garden talks, demonstrations and dinner stories.
