Lady Green Nurseries & Garden Centre

Lady green garden centre was opened in 1985 by owners Philip and Sue Allison. Philip, a trained landscape designer, ahs developed the centre grounds from small beginnings as a ploughed field to its present status as a successful and prosperous business with a growing reputation for the variety and quality of its plants. Set in 9 acres, it boasts a successful garden design business.

Philip and his wife Sue have used their flair for design to develop a beautiful mature landscape of trees, pools and gardens to set off and complement the garden centre plantaria, offering a wealth of ideas to every gardener. Many interesting reclaimed stone items, saved from destruction by city of Liverpool redevelopers, are available to buy, including stone troughs and york stone flags and finials. Frequent medal-winners at the acclaimed Southport flower show, the centre offers a wide selection of top quality shrubs, trees and conifers, while the plant stock ranges from small alpine varieties to mature shrubs and conifers, all container-grown for planting throughout the year.

The trained and knowledgeable staff can offer advice on the most suitable plants for any position. There is also a good selection of garden furniture, for that finishing touch to any garden. Garden tools, hardware, fertilisers and chemicals are also available.

Foe home, the centre stocks a range of silk and dried flowers, house plants and seasonal pot plants, books, cards and attractive gift items. ‘Teasels’ coffee shop has a welcoming, friendly atmosphere and serves a variety of freshly prepared meals and home-made cakes. Evening events include enlightening garden talks, demonstrations and dinner stories. Approved members of the garden centre association.
